Introduction

Greetings young engineers today you will serve as meteorologists in training, and today's lesson is all about clouds! With that being said, we will be exploring the internet for information about clouds.

Task
 

Your task is to explore the internet to learn more about clouds. You will need a piece of paper to answer the following questions. PLEASE WRITE THE QUESTION AND AND ANSWERS!!!!

1. What are the 4 main types of clouds?

2. What are clouds made of?

3. What are the highest clouds in the sky?

4. What are the lowest clouds in the sky?

5. What type of cloud is puffy and looks like cotton balls?

6. What type of cloud has the nickname 'mare's tail'?

7. What type of cloud means 'layers'?

1. Watch the video from Ms. Mykie to learn more about the different types of clouds.

2. Go to 'Wonders of Weather' to learn about the highest clouds in the sky.

3. Look at the chart titled 'Cloud Heights' to learn about the lowest clouds in the sky.

4. Go to 'Stuff in the Sky' to learn about the clouds that are puffy and look like cotton balls.

5. Watch the first 2 minutes of the video 'Cloud Types' to learn about clouds that are in layers.

 

Evaluation

Once you have watched all the videos and answered all 7 questions from the Task bar, you will need to turn them in for a grade. Your job now is to create a Wanted Posted for one of the 4 types of clouds that you have learned about today. 

Each posted MUST include the following:

  • A picture using cotton balls
  • At least 3 characteristics of your cloud. (Ex. Height, is it high or low etc.)
  • List the type of weather your cloud is usually responsible for.
