Mr. Bruni's CWP Current Events Quest

Introduction

It is important, as a Citizen of the World, to be up-to-date in your knowledge of current events! It is hard work to stay informed of issues around the globe, but it is crucial to pay attention to the world around you. There are important events happening everyday, locally, nationally and internationally, and if you know what is happening, then you can begin to formulate informed opinions on these topics.

Today, you will be exploring news websites with a partner or alone. Your task will be to identify a current event (happening LOCALLY, NATIONALLY, or INTERNATIONALLY), summarize what you can learn about this event in your journal. You will also choose a political cartoon, and attempt analyze that as well.

You will be sharing your current event and your cartoon with the group.

Time-management will be a challenge for this assignment, as we need to be sharing our work by the next class.
