People all know that one of the most threatening issues the planet is facing today is global warming. Many scientists have believed that the appearance of global warming is due to the release of carbon dioxide and a great number of polluting factors, which lead to a pernicious influence on the earth atmosphere such as the rising sea level, the climate change, the increasing precipitation, and especially the human health. More seriously, if global warming were not controlled timely, our world would be in danger sooner or later.

You are an environmentally investigative reporter. Your newspaper has assigned you the task of researching or exploring why the global warming happens, how the global warming influences and how the global warming is prevented by the government and the individuals.
Then write an essay (250 - 300 words) about global warming. The content of this essay should be included in the following parts;

what global warming is, how serious it is, where it happens, what might be the causes, interrogative question of whether anything can be done about it

This activity aims to provide the learners with the opportunity of researching and analyzing the global warming in depth. Additionally, the learners are able to work with the useful language areas for this activity, such as the cause-effect essay structure, the range of vocabularies on a given topic, and the critical-thinking skills. To be more specific, through this activity, the learners have a chance to examine and provide an overview of the paper, arrange the relevant in a logical order and broaden the knowledge and experience about the topic.
