Start by researching sources that connect to your topic of interest. These sources can include news sites, blogs, videos discussing the topic. Then start evaluating your source for accurate claims and information, and if there are emotional manipulation tactics being used to influence your stance.
Process
The process should start with a basic search such as, how do I learn to buy designer clothes? Then start collecting sources that have the information you need. Then evaluate for accuracy of the information and claims, i.e. are the claims possible or realistic. Then start looking words or phrases that can be used for emotional manipulation, i.e. this product will boost your social standing because...
Evaluation
The students will be evaluated based on their evaluation of sources. Students can pull sources from the internet that cover their topic. Students must however have statements acknowledging the accuracy of the information in the source and if they are using emotional manipulation to influence your thoughts or stance.
