There are so many beautiful places in the world to visit and so much delicious food to taste. Mmmm! Where will you go? Here is a list of ideas for you, but you and your partner have to make the ultimate decision. Once it is picked by a team, no one else can go there. We want to sample as many new things as possible! Wait, did I hear someone say they aren't adventureous? I know for a fact that you get to make a wish for every new food you try! You chose some delicious colorful choices for your party presentations that looked "good enough to eat"! I can't wait to taste everything you make for our multicultural celebration for the end of the semester!
1. So, where do you want to go? Pick any capital city in the world! Cuisine varies region by region and the south of a country is different than the capital or even than the north. If you like a particular countries food, make sure to explore their delicious variations with your family!
Paris, France Rome, Italy Madrid, Spain San Juan, Puerto Rico Washington, DC Kingston, Jamaica Bejing, China Soeul, Korea Copenhagen, Denmark London, England
Budapest, Hungary Athens, Greece Jeruselum, Israel Rabat, Morrocco Cairo, Egypt Hanalolu, Hawaii Cararcas, Venezuela San Salvador, Salvador Bankok, Thailand
2. Now go to www.tripadvisor.com and see what they have to say about the top places to visit. I would also like you to visit http://www.frommers.com/ and see where they think you should visit in the capital. Make sure you visit the most important landmarks and historical sites as well as some fun places for people your age. Take notes as you explore the country. Write down facts about the culture, people, food they eat, what they do for fun, and where a tourist should visit.
3. Construct your presentation by using places and pictures you find during your journey and the facts you find more interesting to share with the class. Be sure to save it to your school number not to the computer. It is up to your team whether you make one or two slideshows, but make sure that equal participation and effort goes into either one or two slideshows.
4. Once you find your facts and pictures, find your food! The first recipe that you come across most likely won't be the best one. Search for "EASY recipes from (insert your country here)". I suggest using sites like www.allrecipes.com, www.food.com,www.delish.com, or www.foodnetwork.com for some examples. Also, many times if you just go to www.yahoo.com or www.google.com and enter your search words you can find easy recipes. ***
5. AGAIN, MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ THE RECIPE FROM START TO FINISH. YOU ARE DOING THIS ON YOUR OWN.
*** Do you know what all the ingredients are (some ethnic dishes may have hard to find ingredients) make sure that you can identify everything or you ask me if you can easily get everything on the ingredients list? Are there nuts? Are there any expensive ingredients in there? Is it an appetizer, main dish or dessert (whichever you were assigned with your partner)? Are you confident you can make it on your own? If you are unsure, find something else!
