Introduction

Hello Class!

Welcome to our WebQuest on Exhibitions and Fairs for the dental sector!

This is our activity for today: You are working in a dental lab in Italy.

The owner of the Dental Clinic - Mr Smith - can send you and two other members of the staff to an exhibition that could be relevant to your professional development.

Before deciding, he needs to know first how much this would cost and if it would be really useful in order to improve the quality of service in his company.

Your mission is to persuade Mr Smith to send you to the exhibition that you are really interested in.

Please, consider that this kind of kind of activity is what we all usually do when we need to find products and services: we first go on the Internet and search for information there.

It could make a big difference for your future employer to have a competent person in the staff that can find useful information on the web and translate it into Italian.

Have fun BUT do not forget that you are working for Mr Smith! He is your boss and he wants to see effective results by the end of the day!!!!

Task

Your task is to browse through the provided links that will offer a perspective about the most relevant Fairs and Exhibitions for the dental sector in the world.

Choose one or two and create a file using the attached Google.doc You will have to provide the following information:

  • Name of the Exhibition
  • Country or City
  • Dates
  • Opening Times
  • Entrance Admission
  • How to register
  • Number of Exhibitors
  • Special Events
  • How to get there from the airport / station
  • Tourist attractions in the host city
  • Why I would like to visit

Finally, create two or more slides on the Google Tour Builder to locate the exhibition and provide all the information required by the owner of the dental lab where you are working.

REMEMBER: Mr Smith will choose only one destination!

His main interest is to match maximum advantage with lower costs

YOU will have to PERSUADE him why it is worth visiting the exhibition you prefer.

Good luck!
