Olympic Swimming

Introduction

Athletes all around globe train for their lives for just one day. There is 55 olympic sports you can do and there is even winter and summer sports. 

 

Task

You are going to collect data of the Swimmer Olympics. You may select what ever year of Swimming Olympics you want. This assignment is to understand how math is used in the real world. By collecting data you will have to find averages, the lowest score and highest score.

Process

Lesson 1: Go to this website and fill in the information, then create an excel and make a data chart of the averages of the men's swimming.

Lesson 2: Stay on that same website and create another data chart of the women swimming.

*Note- Do not just copy and paste the averages, please use a calculator to find the averages based on the data.

Lesson 3: Create a Google Doc and in one paragraph explain what you learned and how math is used in the real world. (5 sentences and 2 pictures of the Swimming Olympics)
