Introduction
Using this Webquest, you will create a science rap that teaches a concept for your students.

Task
This task can be done individually, in pairs, or in a group of 3.
- Choose a science concept. Examples: Sound/vibrations, water cycle, solar system, body systems, rock cycle, etc.
- Create a quiz based on this concept. Gear it towards a particular grade level. What are the essential elements of this concept that the students need to know and understand?
- Design a rap based on the science concept you have chosen. This can be something that the students can learn OR something that you design as a teaching tool to help them learn the concept (a rap they watch and listen to, as opposed to learn).
Before you begin composing, preview the following videos for inspiration. Watch part of all of this video from Dr. Emdin called "Dropping Science." In it, his students gain confidence and competence in science concepts through rap.
Check out this video from Mr. W, a science teacher, on cell membranes.
Mr. W also creates quizzes to go with his videos. Here is an example that links to the cell membrane video (http://www.sciencemusicvideos.com/membranes-2-membrane-structure/):

Finally, check out Mr. Lee and his sweet rhyme about layers of the earth.
Conclusion
If you have extra time, check out Mr. W get "Teacher of the Year"! His work has really been recognized. You can also practice your rap and teach it to one of the other groups!
