Duration: 1 hour
Topic: Materials
Sub Topic: Properties of Materials
Objectives: 1. Classify materials based on their properties and uses
2. Recognise that objects may be made of one or more materials.
Notes:
The properties of material refers to how the materials behave in their natural state, how they feel and substances they are made from.
Some properties of materials:
1. Hardness - The term of hardness is also referred to stiffness or temper, or to resistance to bending, scratching, abrasion, or cutting. It is the property of a material, which gives it the ability to resist being permanently, deformed when a load is applied.
2. Strength - The term strength refers to a solid material that can withstand strain and pressure.
3.Absorbency- Refers to a material that is able to absorb other substances.
4. Transparency- Which allows light to completely pass through them are called transparent material.. ..
5.Flexibility - A flexible object or material can be bent easily without breaking.
Watch video and give examples of each properties of material.
