Introduction
Understanding the author's point of view is critical element in increasing reaching comprehension. An author uses different points of view to shape and refine ideas that they want to convey in their story. Using different points of view creates depth and interest in any story that uses them effectively. In the video below, you will watch a Khan Academy video that identifies each point of view. At the end of this activity, you will be able to identify each point of view and explain how it shapes and refines the idea conveyed in a story.

Task
In the first task, you will fill in the blanks for a point of view chart in a blank Google Doc. This chart will serve as a guide to complete the WebQuest assignment.

In the second task, you will complete a point of view worksheet that requires that you identify each point of view and explain how you determined your answer. This task will allow you begin applying the knowledge that you have acquired during our instructional periods and the introduction video.

In the third task, you will write a paragraph that clearly uses the third person limited point of view. The paragraph will discuss the topic of two friends having a discussion about the terrible food they experienced at lunch. In your paragraph highlight the pronouns used to prove that the third person limited point of view was used.
*You are allowed to use first person in your paragraph.
*Paragraph = 5 sentences.
Process
Process #1:
1. Copy the point of view chart in in a blank Google Doc in your Google Suite.
2. Add a header to the document that includes your name, period, and date of submission.
3. Fill in the each blank on the chart using a name of a point of view, definition, or pronoun.
4. Double check your answers using the introduction video.
6. When finished, submit your answers in the "Classwork" tab of your Google Classroom section.
7. The assignment is named "Point of View" chart.
Process #2:
1. Click on the link for the digital worksheet.
2. Insert text boxes on the document to type your answers in.
3. Fill two answers per passage. (Point of View & Reason For Choosing Point of View)
4. When you are finished, submit the assignment under the "Classwork" tab of your Google Classroom section.
5. The assignment is name "Point of View Worksheet".
Process #3:
1. Retrieve a journal writing template from the "Assignments Corner" in the classroom.
2. Take out a pencil and your choice of highlighter for this assignment.
3. Review the instructions in the task section of this WebQuest.
4. While writing your paragraph, highlight the pronouns in your paragraph.
5. When you are finished writing, place your assignment in the colored bin that is assigned to your class.
