USING OF WEBQUES TO IMPROVE WRITING PARAGRAPH

Introduction

Welcome, with the help of this WebQuest, we will be able to improve your paragraph writing.

Dear students! The purpose of this activity is to improve students' writing skills and dexterity. This activity will help you improve your writing and develop new ideas using the vocabulary obtained, use appropriate words and ideas when making your paragraph. Please pay attention! Thank you :)

Task

1 Students will refresh the parts of a paragraph and how to write a paragraph with the help of a video through YouTube.

2 Students will be able to practice writing short paragraphs by visiting a website (Write&Improve with Cambridge) to make it more interactive. 

3 The activity is to make groups of two and choose a narrative story from the web, you must make sure that all groups get different stories. then you have to read and understand the content of the text. Then, rewrite a paragraph using your own words.

4 Students will write an essay on a specific topic (they will be given two topics to choose from) with their due parts. 

 

Process

1 With the video, the students should refresh their knowledge, watch it as many times as they need and take notes to proceed with the following activities and thus it will be easier for them to develop them. 

 

2 As the second activity, we have to enter the Write & Improve with Cambridge page, create a profile, and start writing paragraphs according to the work that most attracts your attention, you can choose between several tasks.

When they enter the website, they have to choose the beginner option, then they will choose a task that catches their attention, there are several story options of which they have to write a paragraph according to the images provided and invent a story in at least 35 words.

3 Directions Please read the activity and follow the directions!

 The activity is in a group of 2 students, later After choosing your group, open Google and search for a narrative story, read the story and look for the main idea, take important notes on the story, make a conclusion to the story read, finally rewrite your paragraph using your own words. 4  As the final activity, we are going to advance and level up; We are now going to carry out an essay on one of these two topics: the importance of education or the contribution of technology in education. The essay should contain a short introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. 

 

Evaluation

 

With the video, students should be able to answer the teacher what are the parts that make up a paragraph.

In the secod activity,the page itself will evaluate the student's performance in writing their paragraph and will show them how good they were at creating the story and the correct use of words. The teacher will review the results obtained.

With the last activity, the teacher will review how the students' abilities to write paragraphs progressed, and the structure of the essay will be reviewed in detail if it contains all the parts that were requested and if everything has coherence.
