All About Me

Introduction

WOW! The new 2015-2016 school is year is starting and it's time to prepare for the beginning of the school year. I, Ms. Cuttino will be your 3rd grade teacher. We also have Ms. J. Espinosa who will also work with you. Mr. J. Gray, Grandparent Assistant is back again to working with our cadets.

At the very end of the project, students will have a  PowerPoint Presentation.  Students will have created their very own presentation using different themes, sound, special effects about their personal lives and interest.  Students will be using the internet for research,  and Microsoft PowerPoint for their final part in the project.

Task

You are a third grader getting ready to begin a new school year. Your task is to develop a "Getting To know You" for others cadets identifying your similarilites and differences . Also you will be asked to prepare a multimedia presentation for the parents at the Open House. 

Process

1.  Students will start by opening MSPowerPoint

On the first slide students should make sure it says title slide.

2. Next change the title slide

The title will say "All About Me" 

The subtitle will be where the students type their first and last name.

 (use the Title ONLY layout)

Slide 2:   Tell me 5 Things about yourself

Slide 3: What do you want to become when you get older? slide title could be "I wanna become a ....

Slide 4:   Where do you want to go to college?  If not pick a favorite college

Slide 5:  What are some things you enjoy doing? ( at least 3)

Slide 6:  What kinds of books do you read?

Slide 7:  What is your favorite television show(s)?

Slide 8:  What is your favorite kinds of candy(ies)?

Slide 9:  What is your favorite kind(s) of music)?

Slide 10: Do you have a dream car(s)?

Slide 11:  Excracurula activities:  List all of the things you do after school?

baseball, basketball, go carts, racing cars, bike racing, boy Scouts, football, soccer, softball.

Evaluation

The rubrics for the presentation is simple

Each student will start off with a specific number of points

All slides completed, with three or more images/slide:   100 points

All slides completed, with two images on each slide:   90 points

All slides completed with only one image on any slide:  80 points

All slides completed with no images on any slides    70 points

  1. Point deductions (3-5) points for missing images.
  2. Students need to have 10 different types of backgrounds: ( 2pts each )
