All About The Water Cycle

Introduction

How much water do you drink a day? Where does that water come from? How old is the water your drinking?

Are you ready? We are going to have some fun exploring the water cycle! During this webquest you will learn "All About The Water Cycle!" We will discover new vocabulary and understand how the water cycle works.

Task

You will be creating an informative water cycle brochure to share with your classmates on Science Fair Day in a couple of weeks! You will need to include the following information in your brochure:

  • Estimate how much water you drink a day.
  • How old is the water you drink everyday?
  • Where does that water come from?
  • Interesting Facts
  • Vocabulary 
  • Draw a diagram of The Water Cycle

 

Process

You will use a peice of printer paper and fold it into a tri fold brochure. You will have a front cover, inside flap, and back cover along with the panels 1, 2, and 3 on the inside of the brochure. Use the link below to help you fold your brochure correctly.

After folding your brochure you will then start working on the infromation to put in your brochure. You will need the following included in your brochure:

  • The Front Cover:
  • The Title (All About The Water Cycle) 
  • Your Name (By: James Smith)
  • A colored picture (Anything that has to do with water)
  • Inside Flap:
  • Vocabulary words with defintions (parts of the water cycle - should be 8)
  • Panels 1, 2, & 3:
  • Draw and color a diagram with the parts of the water cycle labeled 
  • Back Cover:
  • 3 Questions with your answers
  • Interesting Facts about water

On this webquest, you learned the parts of the water cycle and how they work. You can now draw and identify the parts of the water cycle. You also developed organizing skills for information in a brochure. 

Your brochure will be due the day you present your brochure to the class!
