Introduction
Good Afternoon, Wilderness Explorers! There are thousands of animals that live all around us. Animals have certain characteristics that help them to survive in a certain ecosystem, and these are called character traits. These traits are adaptive traits, that allow animals to be able to live and thrive, such as long, thick fur for cold climates. There are hundreds of other characteristics that animals have, and today we are going to exlpore a few! Let's get ready to enter into the great outdoors for an awesome adventure!!!
Task
Your task as a wilderness explorer, is to go out into the great outdoors to explore the animals in the deep forest, the dark depths of the ocean, the tundra, the heights of the mountains, the swamps, the tropical rainforests, or any other ecosystem that you find interesting. You are to find at least 3 different animals. These can be in three different ecosystems or the same, but each must be a different animal. You must include the name of the animal, a drawing of the animal, the habitat/environment it lives in, characteristics that help it to survive in this particular environment, what it eats, and at least one fun fact you find about this animal. All of this information will be collected in a pamphlet that you will create.
Process
1. First, you will create your Wildlife Pamphlet. You will need one piece of construction paper, 4 sheets of printer paper, a stapler, and markers/colored pencils/pencil. Fold all of your paper in half (hanburger style) and put the printer paper inside the construction paper, creating a book. Staple together on the spine of your booket. Be sure to write your name on the cover.

2. Next, you will use any of the websites below to locate the necessary information for at least 3 different animals. If you are unable to locate all of the necessary information using these websites, check with Mrs. Hall first before going to an unlisted website. Copy and paste the link into your web browser :)

3. After collecting all of the information about three different animals, you will use the back of your booklet to summarize what you have written inside. You may also draw pictures of your animals on the cover of the booklet.
4. Use the rubric on the next page to make sure that you have completed your pamphlet to the best of your ability, and you will make Mrs. Hall proud with your hard work.
