Introduction
This WebQuest will take you through a process of exploring careers and colleges using the Web. It is designed to develop skills required in researching potential majors, colleges, and careers.
Task
You are to complete each 11 steps of the "process" tab in their entirety. Please write your responses on a separate sheet of paper. Use the internet to complete your research. This assignment is due by the end of class Tuesday, November 24th and is worth 50 points.
Process
1. You have all completed an "Interest Inventory" for Ms. Jimenez's class. If you have not, please go to the following link to do so: http://www.princetonreview.com/quiz/career-quiz .

2. Complete research on "What can I do with a major in..?" (pick your expected major). You may use the following websites or use your own websites.

3. Go to a college search engine and search for colleges that offer majors related to these careers. Please list at least 6 (SIX) colleges and rank them in the order that you would attend. (1 being your top pick).

4. Go to the College Board College Side-By-Side Comparison Work Sheet and compare three of the colleges you listed (Campus life, Admissions requirements, and cost). Once you click on the link below, please hover over "Find Colleges", then click on "Compare Colleges." Once the page loads, you will be able to type in the names of all three schools.

5. Pick ONE of the colleges from question number 3. Research potential scholarships that you may be eligible for by going to the college's webpage. Be sure to look at the scholarship requirements to ensure that you meet them.
6. From question #1, choose your top career and provide a general description of that career.
7. Provide qualifications of the above career (education, training, internships, etc.)
8. What is the average salary?
9. List any problems that may arise in pursuing your career.
10. Tell us if advanced education is needed for your career (Master's, Doctorate, etc).
11. Colleges may or may not interview you for admission upon receiving your application. Below are common quesitons that are asked during the admissions process. Take time to reflect and answer each honestly.

Evaluation
Review the questions and your answers. Determine if there are other careers and colleges you should explore. Do you need more information that should be researched before making decisions?
Conclusion
Please complete a self-reflection based on the research that you just completed. Your self-reflection should be at least 5-10 sentences (it may be more). Do you still see yourself pursuing the career/major that you originally expected? Do you still see yourself going to a large/small college? Tell me what you learned about yourself from this research.
