Greek Goddess Webquest

Introduction

The Ancient Greek Goddesses make such good archetypal figures because of their exaggerated personalities. They can be viewed as being similar to the modern day super heroes as they have a human form and super human abilities. Despite these super powers and their immortality they are still plagued by the destructive force of negative emotions.

Task

In Greek mythology, there are 32 Goddesses. The task is to choose a Goddesses and study their power and importance, and be able to answer the questions given about them.

Process

For this Webquest, you must:

1. Pick a goddess from the list of goddesses on this website: http://www.goddess-guide.com/greek-goddess-list.html

2. Learn about the goddess you have chosen and take notes to prepare to answer questions about them.

3. When you think you are prepared and have found enough information about the goddess, create a Word Document fufilling these requirements:

     - a picture of the Goddess you have chosen

    - the name of the Goddess you have chosen

    - where was the Goddess you have chosen born?

    - who are the parents of the Goddess you have chosen?

    - what are at least 2 characteristics of power that the Goddess portrays?

    - what is the Goddess best known for?

    - is the Goddess you have chosen a female counterpart of a God?

    - has the Goddess you have chosen ever been mentioned in a book or a famous poem (ex The Odyssey)?

    - does the Goddess you have chosen have any children?

    - did the Goddess you have chosen have any enemies?

    - what has the Goddess you have chosen done that infuenced something to occur or help/hurt someone?

    - what is the Goddess' Roman name?

    - list 2 more interesting facts about the Goddess that you have learned by doing this webquest
