Greek Goddesses-Katie Hirsekorn and Bre Lett

Introduction

Greek Goddesses are female deities previously worshipped in Ancient Greknown of which are Aprodite, Hera, Athena and Nike.  They posses immortal powers usually associated with a male counterpart like war(Ares) and Death(Thanatos). These powers are usually associated with Earth, fertility and other "matronly" traits. These rulers are all related, coming from Kronos, leader of the Titan's, who was defeated by Zeus. These were the biases for Roman mythology as well, however with names usually associated with planets. There are 6 Goddesses that rule the univrese, however, there are more than 50 goddesses in all.

Task

1. How many total Olympian gods and goddesses were in existence in Greek history?

There is a total of 12 gods and goddesses that rule Greece's Mount Olympus. There are 6 Goddesses that rule the univrese, however, there are more than 50 goddesses in all.

2. Which god/goddess was the ruler of all Olympian gods and goddesses and held enormous power and almost absolute authority?

Zeus is the god of the sky and the ruler of the universe. Meanwhile Hera, his sister and wife, is the highest ruler of Mount Olympus and the goddesses of marriage and childbirth.

3. List the additional eleven gods and goddesses, and their purposes. One example has been given for you.
