.Greek Heroes

Introduction

This WebQuest will allow AP students to quickly find information about greek heroes that are commonly alluded in AP Tests. We will included Theseus, Perseus, Hercules, Odysseus, Opedius Rex, Achilles, Bellerophon, Icarus, and Orpheus. There will be websites for each character to help students learn and remember the greek stories. Knowing this information will help students understand poems and passage that will allude to greek mythology involving heroes and their stories.  

Task

The links for each hero is divided into two sections. The first section are poems either about the hero or alluding to the hero or their story. You might have difficultly understanding the poem without understanding the hero and his story. The second section are links that explain the story for each hero.

Process

For each hero, the students will have one or more poems that are either about the hero or allude to the hero or their story. The students must read the poem and then go through the information about the hero. The students will write one paragraph describing how the meaning of the poem became clearier after acquiring the information about the hero.

Conclusion

The greek heroes and their stories are important to know for AP students whom might encounter their allusions in passages or poems given by the AP. By the end of this assignment, each student will understand the stories and the importance of these heroes in order to give them an extra tool to succeed in English AP Exam.
