History of Photography

Introduction

Congratulations!  You have just been hired as a curator at a local art museum!

As your first task, your boss has given you an assignment to research the history of photography for a temporary photography exhibit at the museum.

Now, click TASK to find out more about this assignment.

Task

You have been assigned by your boss to research the major events in the history of photography from the beginning of time until present time.  You will need to find information, analyze it and decide which events were the most important.  Your timeline needs to include around 10 events from the history of photography.  Ideally, these 6-8 events would be the most important events that influenced the development of photography as we know it today.

Your boss at the museum wants you to create a digital timeline using Microsoft PowerPoint.  They plan on showing your timeline as part of a temporary exhibit in the museum.   Each of your 10 events should have its own slide on PowerPoint.  You may include images.  The slides should look visually attractive, as they will be on display in the museum.  Also, the slides should have unity and look like they all visually belong together.

Process

Your boss has also given you 2 co-workers to work with on this assignment. You will need to divide the work up between the 3 of you. Research the history of photography through the various resource links below.  Select the 6-8 important events and make a note of them.  Do not copy (copy/paste) the words directly from websites.  You must summarize them into your own words.
Each slide should ideally contain a title, at least one image, several supporting details and/or examples that clearly relate to the main topic.Resource Links:http://inventors.about.com/od/pstartinventions/a/Photography.htmhttp://www.europepress.com/history/photography_history.htmhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_photography_technologyhttp://www.ted.photographer.org.uk/photohistory_origin.htmhttp://timerime.com/en/timeline/408248/History+Of+Photography/http://www.timetoast.com/timelines/history-of-photography
