Integer Webquest

Introduction

Welcome to my Webquest

This webquest is about Integers and this webquest is for teaching about Integers. An integer is a whole number, a thing that completes itself.

Task

You will have groups of 3-4

The task is to find out how to add 2 integers with the same sign and different sign together. Also, to multiply and divide integers. You will accomplish and understand how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers. There will be questions like:

If I borrowed $5 from you because I forgot my lunch money so I have-$5. The next day I gave you back your $5.What would it look like if I borrowed $10? EX:) -5+5=0.

You will be able to play games on these websites:

Process

To add 2 integers with the same sign you just keep the sign the same. The highest numbers sign is the sign that stays the same. To add 2 integers with different signs the highest numbers sign is the sign that stays the same. Keep the sign of the larger number. By changing the subtraction problem to an addition  problem, then the first number stays the same and the operation changes. Subtract means add the opposite.First, do the multiplication or division. Then determine the sign: Is there an even number of negatives? If yes, the answer is positive otherwise, the answer is negative.

Evaluation

This should be presented either online or something visual

The standards are...

  • adding integers with the same symbols
  • adding integers with different symbols
  • multiplying integers
  • dividing integers
  • explanation on how you add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • make a story problem with all 4 of these different ways
  • 3 pictures that help you understand Integers
Conclusion

Discuss what you did with your groups

Discuss what you did good on and what you could use some more work on and see if anyone in your groups can help you with anything you don't understand.
