Introduction to The Iliad

Introduction

This WebQuest was created to further your knowledge of Greek history and the figures involved in the Trojan War, and to understand the reason behind the war in general before we read Homer's The Iliad.

Task

You will use the Internet to conduct research to gain information that will help you better understand the story of The Iliad.  Each group will be assigned a topic and will then create a presentation to use while teaching the class about the assigned topic.  The presentation should have an introduction of some sort, a body full of relevant, significant information, and a conclusion, along with a Works Cited Page that follows the MLA format.

Process

In your groups, you will conduct research, take notes, and create a presentation that delivers pertinent information to the class. Therefore, you will need to include the following:

 - First, create an introduction slide that includes your title, the names of the people in your group, and a relevant attention getter in the form of a question, powerful statement, popular quote, anecdote, etc.
  - Second, additional slides for the body of your presentation that include detailed information about the assigned topic. - Third, create a conclusion that wraps up the information you have presented in your PowerPoint/Google Slideshow. - Finally, create a Works Cited Page that lists the websites you visited during your research.  Make sure the sources are sited correctly using MLA format.
