Let's take a trip!!

Task

We need to figure out how much money it would cost to take a trip to Disney World. We need to figure out the lowest cost possible. This will include three roles:

Travel Expert- Researches costs of airplane versus gas expenses in driving.

Dining Expert- Researches costs of dining for one meal comparing prices of other restaurants.

Lodging Expert- Researches costs of hotels for 2 nights comparing prices of other hotels.

Step 1: Get into groups of three and choose one person for each role: Travel expert, Dining expert, and Lodging expert.

Step 2: After deciding which role you will play, click on the page that describes your role. The page will tell you exactly what to do.

Step 3: Everyone will do the research for their own role to become an expert on the area they are researching. Althought you are experts, you are not the one who makes the final decision. After the research is done for a role, come together as a group with your calculations and make your decisions as a whole. You will be graded on your teamwork, so try to listen to each other and participate as much as you can.

Now that each expert has narrowed their choices down to present to the group, it is now time for you to make some decisions as a whole. You will need to choose: -the way you are going to get to Florida, -the restaurant you will eat at, and -the hotel you will stay two nights in. Once these decisions are made, you will need to put together a power point presentation including the total cost of the trip. You will be presenting it to the fund raising committee as they will be helping you raise the funds. If your total cost is above $5000, you will have to raise all of the money, but if it is below $5000, SURPRISE-it will be free! Have fun in Disney World!
