2. Comparing and Contrasting the Life of a Pioneer and a Modern Day Child.
You will learn what life was like for a pioneer child. Be sure to carefully read the directions on each page. As you work use your background knowledge from our visit with the Docent from the Chana School and from Little House on the Prairie.
You will learn about why pionners moved west and what life was like. Choose three videos to watch. As you watch take notes about their life.

1. Download and print the filmstrip http://www.edhelperclipart.com/clipart/teachers/org-filmstrip.pdf
2. Pretend you are a pioneer child.
3. Write six sentences describing your day. (Use sequencing words)
4. Illustrate each senteces on the filmstrip.
5. Cut out the filmstrip and glue to a peice of construction paper. Attach your writing.
6. Turn your work in.
1.Compare and Contrast how your life and the life of a pioneer are the same and different. Create a Venn Diagram to show your thinking. You can use words or pictures to show your understanding.
2. Which life do you prefer? The one you live or the life of a pioneer? Why? Write a paragraph explaining your preference. Use information from the Venn Diagram to support your thinking.
