Little Red Riding Hood is coming to class!

Introduction

Dear students:

All of you are involved in a fantastic research on the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood. You know the tale since you were kids but:

Do you know who the author is?

Do you know the moral?

Are you able to participate in a play to retell the story to the class?

Can you think on some questions to ask to the main characters of the story?

Task

There will be three different tasks:

Group A: do a research on the author of the story and create a presentation in power point.

Group B: read the story and create a play.

Group C: write a radio script interviewing the characters.

Process

Dear students:

You are already divided into three groups. You will read now what you are expected to do within the following sessions of English:

Group 1: The first activity will consist of “creating a presentation” using “power point” with information related to the author of the story. You should find details that may include: facts about his life, pictures, music and anything that they may consider appropriate for their presentation. Besides, as this is a group task, you have to make your mind up on the way you will show the presentation to the class by assigning different roles.

Group 2: Regarding the second task, you will visit different web pages related to the story, you will do a research on dialogues that you may use for writing and performing your own play. You have to think about the wardrobe that may be suitable for their play, the music, you may use the Interactive Whiteboard for the scenery and so on.

Group 3: Let us turn our attention to the third task.  You will navigate through the different web pages to read dialogues related to the story. You should write down a radio script concerning the questions that you may ask to the main characters of the story. You should assign different roles; some will be radio speakers, some of you characters and so on.
