Introduction
Today we will be learning about the interactions between living and nonliving things within a small environment. Remember in our previous lessons we have learned how to identify living vs nonliving things. Our focus today is learning about how they interact. After going through the lesson, you will be creating an infographic. More information about it can be found at the end.
Task
Your assignment for this lesson is to create a blog post that discusses your findings in an environment of your choice. You will be posting on the classroom blog and answering the following questions
What living and nonliving things did you find?
Did you find any once living things in your environment?
Was there a living or nonliving element that was unique to your environment?
Are environments made up of living, nonliving, once living things. or all 3?
OR
You can create a Storybird and answer the same questions above. If you decide to create a Storybird make sure you post a link to our class blog so that everyone can see your story.
You must respond to one peer whether you did the blog post or Storybird.

Now we know that the nonliving factors influence the environment or ecosystem an animal is found in. Think of some examples from the video that showed the living and nonlivings things within the environment. Some nonliving factos you may have noticed was the desert sand, water, and the icebergs. While some living interactions you may have noticed were the animals and the plants.

Some more examples of once living things are bones of an animal or human, a dead insect, and a picked flower or fruit.
After reading the article, looking at the picture, and watching the video, your next task is to go outside and observe an enviornment yourself! Choose a small environement, such as an aquarium, flowerbed, or a patch of dirt, to observe. While observing the chosen environment make sure you notice the living and nonliving things that make up and are found within the enviroment. While observing make sure you take your notebook to take notes about what you have found. If possible take pictures so that you can add it to your blog post
