Part 1: Being a missionary
Before starting, you need to understand what a missionary is so that you can play the part without being discovered.

Part 2: Locating a tribe
You will start your research by learning more about which Native American groups lived in Michigan during the late 1600's.
Fill in the chart below with the names of the tribes you discover on the map. List whether they are located in the Upper Peninsula or Lower Peninsula. Then answer the questions below the chart.

Part 3: Understanding their lifestyle
Now that you are familiar with the tribes, you will now learn more about the Native American lifestyle. Visit the link in the webquest and select 3 topics that interest you. Some ideas could include: homes, language, clothing, food sources, transportation, beliefs, or geography.

Part 4: Gaining trust
You are learning a lot and feel more comfortable interacting with the tribe. You are doing a great job blending in so the tribal elders have invited you to attend a pow wow!

Part 5: Giving thanks
Your trip is almost over. Learn about Native American art, and design a gift to leave with your tribe.

To create your design, follow these steps:

Select “Drawing”. It is the 4th item on the list.

Create your design using the tools provided. If you would like to draw free hand, click the small arrow to the right of the solid line tool. When the menu comes up, select the “scribble” tool. If you wish to include the image that you were inspired by, click on the “image” button and paste the web address for the image.

Part 6: Publish your findings
Your trip is now complete and it is time to present your findings to your fellow researchers. Visit Glogster.com and use your research log to help you create your Glog. Include the following elements in your Glog:
