Introduction

Plants are everywhere!
Do you know the 4 main parts of a plant?
Do you know what each part does?
Let's figure it out!
Task

Soon you will:
Name the four main partd of a plant.
Know what the four parts do.
You will write a book with at least one illustration to share what you learned with your classmates.
Process

1. Open the link below and see the different parts of a plant and function of each part.

2.See if you can correctly label the 4 main parts of a plant by dragging the name of the parts to the correct box in the Parts of the Plant Game.

If you didn't get them all right, watch A Friend Plants a Seed Video again and give the Parts of a Plant Game another try!
3. You can open the Parts of a Plant Picture (below), print it, and label the parts with the right names so you don't forget what you learned.
4. Use paper and writing materials from the writer's workshop to create a book about the parts of a plant and what the parts do. Include a cover page with your name as author and illustrator and a title. In the pages of the book, be sure to include at least one drawing of a plant with the 4 mains parts you learned about labeled and one or two facts about what each of the 4 main parts do.

Conclusion

Now you know the 4 main parts of a plant and what each part does!
To explore more, perhaps you may want to plant a seed or two and see the plants in action for yourself. You could probably even use what you've learned to guess and explore what happens if one or more of the main parts of a plant is not allowed to do its job. For example, what if the leaves do not get any sun? Or the roots do not get any water? You might want to explore this if you plant some seeds!
