Pointillism

Welcome to the wonderful world of Pointillism!

Pointillism is the technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are used in patterns to form an image. In this webquest you will learn about Pointillism and it's history. After which, you will also create your own pointillism work of art using what you have learned.

Task

You and a partner will work together to complete the following tasks:

  • Answer questions
  • Create your own Pointillism work of art
  • Write a summary of what you learned
Process

You will be partnered with a fellow classmate to complete this assignment. You must work together equally to complete the tasks. Using the information provided you will answer the following questions:

      Who invented Pointillism?

      Who are the most well-known painters of Pointillism?

      What is Divisionism?

      Name a few of your favorite Pointillist paintings.

      What do you think was interesting about the Neo-Impressionism era?

You and your partner will create your own Pointillist painting. Collaberation is a must, work together.

For the final task, you and your partner will work together on writing a short summary about what you learned during this assignment. Be sure to accent some main points from the readings on Pointillism. (100 words minimum)
