Road to the Revolution Review

Introduction

The American Revolution is what turned the thirteen colonies into the United States of America. But how did it start? What drove colonists to seek independence? Were they right to declare their independence? These are a few of the questions you will explore in this webquest.  

By the end of this webquest, you should understand and be able to discuss the following:

  • How the relationship between Great Britain and its American colonies slowly changed over time.
  • Short term and long term factors contributing to the revolution.
  • If the colonist were right to declare their independence. 

Task

Today, you are a Historian that will be traveling back to the year 1775. During your travel experience, you will discover the different events that led up to the American Revolution. Then you will decide if the colonist were right to declare independence from Great Britain and why.
