The Seven Wonders

Introduction

Each student has to pick one of the current Seven Wonders of the world and give the history.

Task

Using online sources, find an image of the chosen "wonder" and retell the history of it. " Must be able to present to the class at least one unique historical fact.

Process

Students will each individually choose one of the Seven Wonders to research. They will then find an image that shows the entire monument.

When writing the history, students must include the time period it was built, the location, it's significance then and now, and if anything interesting happened regarding the monument.

Students will then design a poster to present the information to the class.

Evaluation

Students will be graded on the accuracy of their information and how well they are able to present it. They will also be evaluated on how well they can use search engines to find relevant information. Also graded on creativity of the poster.

Conclusion

This gives students an idea of the history behind things that are important in the world now. Students wil be wiser as to why these are considered te "Seven Wonders" and have some understanding of world history.
