Slavery

Introduction

Slavery began in the early seventeenth century, slaves were mostly used on farms and plantations to tend to the crops.  Slavery started in Virginia and then spread throughout the Americana Colonies. Some historians estimated that there were about 7 to 8 million Africans taken from Africa to come to America and work as slaves. After the American Revolution the opression of slaveryy began. Slavery was mainly taken place in the South, and never made it too far up North.  

Task

The task is to learn about slavery. You will be using the websites provided to gather your information to create your KWL chart at the end of the WebQuest.  You will have the opportunity to learn more about the people who escaped slavery and how they did it.
