Small, Medium, or Large?

Introduction

Introduction

The last bell of the day rings. It's time to get out of here...it's Friday! The excitement of knowing that you don't have to come back to school for three whole days gives you a certain kind of warm, happy feeling. First thing on your mind: make plans to hang with your friends. However, there's a problem; no one has a clue what anyone is doing this weekend. Feeling a bit annoyed with uncertainty, you and your homies start Tweeting "someone please, lets hang." Suddenly, you realize your stomach just made a very strange noise. Awkward!! Guess what? You're hungry! So you and your buddies decide to hit the closest fast food place, which conveniently is easy on a young person's budget. Your choices within walking distant are McDonalds, Burger King, and Taco Bell!

Task

Even though you are super hungry, you remember what we have talked about in class regarding healthy food choices, and the recomended daily allowances. Based on the information from ChooseMyPlate.gov.

  • The class will break up into teams of three.
  • Each Buddy will find a meal at either McDonalds, Burger King, or Taco Bell.
  • Each Buddy will evaluate a meal based on calories, fat content, sodium, and cholestrol then compare those values with the recomended daily allowances.
  • Each Buddy will record findings then compare with the others.
  • Each group will choose one meal that has the highest nutritional value.

  • Friend 1: Mcdonalds
