Tiny Home Project

Introduction

In this webquest, students will design a tiny home. They will create a floor plan for their home, calculate the area and perimeter of each room and of the entire house. Then students will have to write a narrative essay telling the story of how they achieved their dream home.

This video below is example of what can be built in such a small space.

Task

To get ready for this special project, you and your partner must be sure that you have the skills you, the architects, will need. An understanding of area and perimeter is required. Once you show mastery through graph paper drawings, you will design and draw the floor plan for your dream house. Then you will determine how much flooring and fencing you will need for your home. Your final product will be a floor plan and a drawing of how your house will look from the front.  You will also write a story about how you acheived your dream home.
