Introduction

What is a webquest?

A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web

Task

The task is the formal description of what the students will produce in the WebQuest. The task should be meaningful and fun. Creating the task is the most difficult and creative part of developing a WebQuest.

The teacher should ensure the content provided is relevant to the course and research other webquest to see what methods the teacher likes or dislikes.

Process

How do webquest benefit teachers?
Working with individuals or small groups instead of having all eyes on you as the only means of information
Helps integrate technology
Creative way to help individuals learn
Involves creative and critical thinking

Students are required to use higher level thinking, it is a unique way to use their imagination, student motivation, students can take on a role in a small group and students can direct and guide their own studies or findings.

Process The steps the students should take to accomplish the task. It is frequently profitable to reinforce the written process with some demonstrations.

Evaluation

How do webquest benefit students?
Provides more responsibility for the learner
Problem solving, judgement, critical thinking, analysis

Evaluation The way in which the students' performance will be evaluated. The standards should be fair, clear, consistent, and specific to the tasks set.

Conclusion

Many teacher worldwide have incorporated the use of webquests to engage their students in the kinds of thinking that the 21st century requires

Conclusion Time set aside for reflection and discussion of possible extensions.

This can be used by dividing the class into groups, this method can also be used as a whole to develop discussion or used independently by students while the teacher facilitates.
