A WebQuest for Transition Students

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from high school. You are now ready to begin the next part of your life.  One of the most important decisions you will have to make as an adult is what type of job you want to have.  Do you join the family business?  Do you find a job that makes lots of money?  Do you find a job that makes you happy?  How do you know what job will be best for you?

Choose The Right Direction

In order to find the best job an individual must tap into their interpersonal intelligence.  This includes exploring one's own feelings, emotions, strengths and weaknesses.  Knowledge of one's self can be used to identify priorities and set goals for the future (Maccagnano, 2007). I hope it can help you answer the question "What's the best job for me?"

Task

Your final task before you step into the world of work is to explore what job is the best fit for you! You will explore your strengths and interests.  You will investigate different career paths. You will interview actual employees.  You will compare and contrast your options.  You will highlight your skills and experience.  You will discover what job is best for you.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the more one knows about themselves, the better prepared they can be to plan for the future.  The use of interest inventories can help to identify personal strengths and weaknesses.  This information can be used to effectively plan for the future including choosing education and careers paths. Intrapersonl intelligence can be used by individuals to set priorities and goals throughout their life (Maccagnano, 2007). I hope you can use the information from this webquest to learn about yourself and plan for your future.
