Zoo Keepers

Introduction

Congradulations students, You have been chosen to be the new zoo keepers at the Tulsa Oklahoma Zoo! Your new boss has assigned you to a group with three other students from your class and you four will be in charge of taking care of a certain group of animals at the zoo!

Task

In your assigned groups you will research facts about the animals assigned to you. With your group you will each pick one of the animals mentioned and you will dig deeper on the animal you picked. You should know what the animal eats, drinks, where it lives and some interesting facts about the animal. In the end you will need to produce an information plate at each animals home in the zoo telling the facts that you researched! You will need to make sure that this information plate will be something that you want to share with the rest of your classmates! You all are assigned to different animals in the zoo and you will all be sharing about your animal to the class! I think that all of you will do a great job. You have three days to complete this assignment. On the third day you will present this to the class!

Process

Day 1

  • At your desks your group will meet for the first time
  • Your first step is to make a plan for your research and be sure that everyone knows which animal they are doing.

Day 2

  • The teacher will take you to the computer lab where you will begin your research

Teacher Page

This webquest is to teach students about the various animals in a zoo. For a student to fully enjoy this they should have been learning about the animals and as a reward for working so hard on this they will all get to go on a field trip to the Tulsa Oklahoma Zoo and see the animals real information plates. This will be an enjoyable activity for not only the students but the teachers also!
