Introduction

For 5th grade students and the subject of science. 

Students need to know the eight planets names and know their placement within the solar system.

Task

You will explore interesting facts about the solar system by exploring the NASA Solar System Exploration.

You will compare and contrast the eight different planets. You will choose one planet to discover and create a project about it. 

 

Process

2. Watch this video to show the differences between the eight planets: 

3: As you hear and collect more information about these planets, choose one planet to compare the Earth to. 

4: Questions to keep in mind as you research and collect information: 

- What is the planet's name?

- What are five to six characteristics of the planet?

- How far is it from Earth and the Sun? Compare and contrast the differences.

- Draw the characteristics of the planet.
