Introduction
Task
This webquests will consists of two steps. The steps are broken down in the descriptions written below.
Step 1- Using the resources provided, take notes on your Cell Organelle Reserach Worksheet found in Google Classroom. Remember notes must be written in your own words, they may not be copied and pasted.
Step 2- Using your notes from Step 1, you will create a cell organelle trading card for each cell organelle.
Process
Step 1-
Open up the worksheet titled "Cell Organelle Research Worksheet." This worksheet can be found our Google Classroom page for Science. Using the resources below, take notes on each cell organelle. Please remember that your notes should be written in your own words and not copied and pasted.
Resources-
The Virtual Cell - The Virtual Cell is an online Cell Biology textbook. It provides students with an interactive journey through the cell.
Animal Cell Interactive - Explore an animal cell.
Animal Cells - The schematic represents an idealized animal cell, e.g., a liver cell. The columns to the left and right of the labels contain links to discussions of the particular structures.
Cells and Organelles - An overview of plant and animal cells.
Drag and Drop Cell Organelles - Test your knowledge of the cell by matching each structure with it's function by dragging the organelles to their proper spaces.
Biology 4 Kids- This website will provide a description for each cell organelle. Please remember that you may not copy and paste, you will need to write the descriptions in your own words.
Step 2-
Now that you have taken notes on each cell organelle, you are now ready for the second step of the webquest! In the second part of the webquest you will be using the notes you have on each cell organelle to create a trading card for each cell organelle.
In the Google Classroom page for Science you will find a document titled "Cell Organelle Trading Card Assignment." Follow the directions on the document to create your Cell Organelle Trading Cards.
Evaluation
Your trading cards will be evaulated using the following criteria. Each card should consist of the following information:
1. The name and picture of the organelle. (3 Points)
2. Where it is found. (3 Points)
3. What it does. (3 Points)
4. Something that performs the same function. (3 Points)
Each trading card will be worth 12 Total Points.

I hope you've learned how important cells really are. Ya' just can't live without them! Now you know the structures and functions of each cell organelle!
