Analyzing an article

Introduction

Greetings students.

For this lesson you will need to read the article given in the Task section and then analyze it with the questions provided under Process.

This lesson you will need to be able read with understanding and know key aspects of of work done in class such as punctuation, direct and indirect speech, etc.

Task

Process

Questions:

1. In the subheading of the above article, what would do to the line to show that it is written in direct speech? Show by rewriting the sentence.

2. In the first sentence of the article, "Fears of stricter restrictions... ", what other punctuation marks can be used instead of the two dash lines and what is its purpose in this sentence (in your own words)?

3. In sentence 2 of the article, what does it mean when they say "the positivity rate breached 10% on an upward trajectory"?

4.
