Introduction
This WebQuest will help you explore the animal cell and its organelles. First, you will research the different organelles to learn the function and importance of each organelle. After researching, you will illustrate an animal cell based on your research. Finally, you will label each organelle within the animal cell you created.
Task
Your task is to research and develop an understanding of the animal cell organelles. You will complete this task in three parts:
1. Animal Cell Research
2. Illustrate an Animal Cell
3. Label the Organelles within the Animal Cell
Process
Task #1- Animal Cell Research
Use the following websites to help begin your research process on the animal cell.

As you research, write down the function of each cell organelle and the role it plays. Try to remember the placement of each organelle within the cell for task #2.
Task #2- Illustrate an Animal Cell
You will now create an Animal Cell. You may use any means necessary to complete the illustration. Please do not copy and paste a picture from Google. You may draw by hand or design on a computer program an animal cell. This must be your original work.
Task #3- Label the Organelles within the Animal Cell
Once you have completed your illustration of an Animal Cell, please label the organelles. You may write the name of the organelle directly on your illustration or draw an arrow pointing to the term corresponding to the organelle. A numbered list with key will also be accepted. Please ensure all labeling can be throughly read as credit will be given based on the labeling of each organelle.
Evaluation
You will receive a completion (classwork) grade for the Animal Cell Research and the Animal Cell Illustration (100 points each). Please turn in both to receive full credit. Staple all research material to your illustration so I will have an understanding of the information used to complete the illustration.
You will receive a test grade (100 possible points) for the labeling of the Animal Cell. Please ensure all labels are legible and are free from obstructions. I will not be able to grade labels that I cannot read.
Conclusion
By completing the WebQuest, you should have an understanding of the Animal Cell and the role each organelle plays in the function of the cell. I hope you have enjoyed this learning activity and cannot wait for your feedback!
