Introduction

The theme animals is a part of the early childhood curriculum requirement. This thematic approach helps children to learn about animals, where they live, the food they eat and the sounds they make. Children also learn about what type of animals can be used for pets and how to take care of them. In this webquest, children will be able to learn about all of the above while they have fun doing so.
Task
1. Allow children to say the names of the first ten (10) animals in the video below.
2. Watch video, follow the instructions given and imitate what is being done.
Process
1. Teacher will set up and test projector.
2. Teacher will gather all other material necessary.
3. Teacher will give brief and clear instructions of lesson to children.
Activity 1
1.Children will watch video 1.
2. Children will say the names of the animals in sequence.
3. Children's responses will be documented.
Activity 2
1. Children will watch video 2.
2. Children will demonstrate actions shown in video.
3. Children will say the names of the animals seen in video.
Evaluation
Evaluation Sheet (3 marks)
- 1 mark for each "yes" response
1. Were the children able to say the names of the animals as they were called?
2. Did the children recognize the animals shown in video 1 when it was played without sound?
3. Were the children able to follow the instructions that were given?
Conclusion
This webquest was created to teach children about animals and the sounds they make.
