INTRODUCTION
Hello. I am the headmistress of your school and as you know our school cares about the natural environment
and is in favor of promoting the beautiful places of our prefecture. Of course you know Lake Kerkini, which is
home to a lot of special species of birds and is famous for its biodiversity. Let's see what you know about it,
as I am going to need your help.
Task
Dear students, I would like to inform you that a group of ten 6th-grade students from Great Britain
accompanied by two teachers will visit our town, in terms of a short exchange program. Unfortunately,
they will not stay overnight and they are interested in going on a trip to Lake Kerkini. Their teachers have
asked me to gather information about Lake Kerkini and create a mini-brochure for them but due to lack of
time, I will not be able to do it.
I think that you could help me and create this brochure about Lake Kerkini. It should be organised in a way
that will be really informative about the location, the distance from the town of Serres, the unique species that
live there, the activities offered and anything else you consider important. Remember that they will be there
for only a few hours, so you should make a very careful selection of the choices offered so that they can be
really excited and become 'our advertisers' in their town!
You will form three groups of three and will work on the sources I am going to give you.
Group A will gather information about the location, the surroundings and other practical tips.
Group B will deal with the natural environment.
Group C will look into the activities that can be done there.
You will take notes
and you will co-operate to decide on the most important things to be included in your brochure.

Step 2: Each group should use the information collected by the answers to the questions and organise them in structured sentences.
Step 3: You will work all together so as to organise your brochure. You should discuss its form and the way the information will be presented on it. You should also add photos from the following site to make it more attractive.
Step 4: After you have decided on the final form of your brochure you have to write it and present it to me.
