This lesson is going to outline the three branches of the United States government and what they each do! Each branch has very important responsibilities and they all work together checking each others power. Understanding these three branches is the foundation for learning about our government and how it works!

What does the legislative branch do? Name one way the legislative branch checks and balances the power of another branch.
What does the judicial branch do? Name one way the judicial branch checks and balances the power of another branch.
What does the executive branch do? Name one way the executive branch checks and balances the power of another branch.

It is very important to understand our government and how it works. Understanding this complex system starts with understanding each branch and giving yourself a good foundation to build off from. This webquest is a great introduction to that learning adventure!
