You will be a construction worker building a wall for a house. You will need to follow the directions in the assignment to accomplish the task at hand. You will use the information you find and explore to build a wall in the class.
Task
You will team up in groups of 4 or 5, and construct a 8' X 12' wall.
The wall will have a top plate, a bottom plate and studs 16" on center.
Frame one window in the center of the wall 36" X 48".
Label all components of the wall
Use local building codes and regulations when framing the wall.

Process
Begin with collecting the materials needed to build a wall
16 - 2 x 4 x 12
Framing nails
framing nail gun
air-compressor
compound saw
speed square
framing square
hammer
tape measure
Carpenters pencil
Begin by laying out the materials and marking them for cutting.
Cut the exterior boards first. (top, bottom, and double studs on the ends)
*make sure to save scraps for spacers on the studs
cut all the wall studs to the appropriate length
install wall studs
cut cripples, and window frame pieces
install window frame in wall
