Bullying Webquest

Introduction

Dear students!

As you probably already guessed the topic for this week is bullying.

I would like you to imagine to be a little adviser for a day and write a Facebook post for a friend who has been bullied to make him/her feel better.

You have ONE chance to make the difference in your friend's day and put a smile on his/her face!

Task

In order to reach out to your friend and make him/her feel like he/her matters you will need to write a Facebook post of 300 words where you will include some solutions to what happened to your friend.

Please remember that this writing will have to contain the words /expression presented on the board during the lesson.

For this task you will be working alone.

Process

Before you start writing, you may want to find some more information about the topic. For example the meaning of the word 'bullying', the different contexts in which bullying can happen (e.g. school, sport clubs, park) and the reason why some young people get bullied (e.g. appearance, personality, hobbies, culture, languages spoken).

TIPS!   See the source image

Check out the videos and articles I attached for you below to see what other people say about bullying and how they overcome it. You can use the information from videos and articles to answer the questions below and in your writing.

Don't forget to look for the words/expressions we wrote on the board earlier on! Try to spot as many as you can in the materials below.

Remember to use reading scanning strategies you have learnt in class with your teacher when you read the material. You are not interested in every information but only the ones you need for your task. Spotting the words I suggested for you should help you!

Please think about what you already know about bullying and your past experiences in relation to this topic. This may help you to think outside the box and be more creative about your solutions for your friend.
