Clean Now, for a Better Tommorow

Introduction

"Clean Now, for a Better Tomorrow" is not just a catchphrase—it is a call to action! Youth will engage planting, cleaning and community works which can contribute to the community. The mission is to investigate the causes of local waste problems, discover how other communities successfully reduce and manage waste, and design a creative campaign to inspire your neighbors to protect our environment today. Are you ready to make a difference?

Task

Youth will deliver the following:

  1. The Community Eco-Action Plan & Poster: A creative, informative campaign poster (digital or paper-based) that teaches proper waste segregation (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and highlights actionable tips for keeping the community clean.
  2. The 3-Minute "Clean Tomorrow" Advocacy Speech: A short, persuasive speech delivered to the class explaining your eco-poster and presenting a pledge for clean living.

Your poster and presentation must address:

  • The main types and causes of waste in our daily lives.
  • Practical solutions for waste reduction and recycling (3 Rs).
  • A clear, persuasive slogan promoting a clean and healthy environment for future generations.

Process

  • Step 1: Role Assignment (Day 1)
    • Form a group of 3–4 members and assign team roles:
      • The Field Researcher: Identifies local environmental waste issues and gathers facts.
      • The Waste Management Specialist: Researches proper waste segregation, composting, and recycling strategies.
      • The Campaign Designer: Leads the layout, visuals, and slogan for the Eco-Poster.
      • The Speaker/Advocate: Takes the lead in writing and delivering the 3-minute speech.
  • Step 2: Investigation & Research (Day 2)
    • Explore the provided online resources to answer the following questions in your Eco-Journal:
      1. What happens to trash when it is thrown on the street or burned in open air?
      2. What is the difference between biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable waste?
      3. How does proper waste management benefit our community's health and environment?
  • Step 3: Creating the Eco-Poster (Day 3)
    • Using paper poster board or digital design tools like Canva, organize your findings visually:
      • Include a bold main title: "Clean Now, for a Better Tomorrow".
      • Use clear illustrations or diagrams for waste segregation.
      • Write 3–5 practical habits everyone can start today (e.g., bringing reusable bags, proper bin usage).
  • Step 4: Speech Preparation & Final Review (Day 4)
    • Draft a short, persuasive speech applying strong English vocabulary and clear tone.
    • Check your poster and speech draft against the evaluation rubric below before presenting.

Conclusion

By taking on this challenge, you have demonstrated that small actions today lead to giant leaps for our environment tomorrow.

Take a moment to reflect:

  • What is one habit you personally plan to change starting today to reduce waste?
  • How can youth-led initiatives inspire older generations to care for our shared home?

Engaging environments reflect the student action and can develop their own way of protecting the environment that can help to have a better tomorrow.

Remember: Clean Now, for a Better Tomorrow! Keep inspiring your school and community to keep our surroundings clean, green, and vibrant.
