Introduction
In this webquest, students will research colleges to learn about tuition, room/board, location, student life, and other aspects of college. Students will use this research to complete the tasks included in this webquest.
Task
You will research different colleges and/or technical schools to see which ones would be a good option for you and your postsecondary education needs. You will be required to create a brochure that will document 3 colleges/technical schools of your choice.
Process
You will research different websites to find important facts on college/university/technical school options.
Process #1:
Use the website below to research and choose 3 different colleges/universities/technical schools that you are interested in applying to after high school.
Process #2:
You will research all three schools you chose and find out the following information:
- location
- tuition (in-state and out-of-state)
- room/board
- cost of books
- at least 2 different majors the school offers that you are interested in
- student enrollment
- student life
- deadline for applications
- application fees
- college's website
- 3 photos of each college/school
You may also google the school or use their website to obtain the information.
Process #3:
You will create a brochure using either MS Word or MS Publisher to showcase your research (facts on each college).
- Front of brochure will be your title page (title, your name, class, date)
- Inside cover of brochure will be your first college/school choice. Include all the information from Process #2. Your pictures will have to be resized to fit.
- Inside middle section of brochure will be the second college/school choice. Include all information from Process #2. Pictures will need to be resized to fit.
- Inside last section will be the third college/school you chose. Include all researched information. Resize pictures to fit.
- Outside on last page of brochure can be your choice. Be creative and professional. Make it relevant to colleges/schools.
- Save your brochure to be submitted for a grade as your final project on college research.
