Introduction
In this WebQuest, you will get the opportunity to further your understanding of money and how to count it.
I believe it is essential for children to have a strong understanding of money, and the ability to count money. It is greatly beneficial to have a genuine respect for the value of the money you earn. Throughout this lesson, you will watch interactive videos, collaborate in groups, and participate in activities to help further your understanding of money concepts. You will also be tested on this material at the conclusion of our unit on counting money! Pay attention, and most importantly have fun!

Task
First, you will watch two interactive videos to give you an understanding on how to count money.

Second, you play online games to deepen your understanding of money concepts and values.
Lastly, you will participate in a station activity with a partner so we can learn to apply these concepts to real world scenario.
Process
First, Please go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhAVtj7ChkU and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpkdsviOAXg and watch these interactive videos to gain a basic understanding of dollars, coins, and their values. These videos will help you remember what counting money and their value entails.
Next, you will go to https://mrnussbaum.com/math/money Scroll down and select the first game called "Cash Out-Online game". There is also a Spanish version available called "Cash Out-Online Game-Spanish Version, Scroll down to the second game for this option. 
Instructions:
- Select play game, make sure the box for "use timer" is empty
- For "Difficulty" please select "Easy"
- For "Display Hints" Please select no, I want to see what YOU are capable of doing on your own!
- For "Show Change Amount" Please select no, again I want to see what YOU are capable of doing on your own
- Select "Play Game"
I will give you guys time to work and play this game on your own. Be prepared, as I will be coming around to have you show me that you can complete 2 problems on your own!

- "Counting With Quarters and Half Dollars"

I will give you time to complete this game on your own. Remember, be prepared to show me that you can complete two problems from each of the four categories on your own.

Lastly, you will get into groups of 2 that I have selected, and complete an activity. I have prepared stations for you. At each station you will have a sheet with 5 items located on it. The objective of this activity is to effectively tell me the amount of money you would use to purchase these items.
Station Directions
For this activity you will be allowed to work with a partner. There will be a total of five stations. Each of these stations will have a worksheet provided with five questions that you will need to complete. I have provided an example worksheet below so you can prepare yourself for what to expect.

Evaluation
After everybody has completed the "processes" part of the WebQuest this will occur:
Students will be expected to complete an assessment over the material they have learned in class. This assessment will be made up of 10 questions. Remember to raise your hand if your have a question, and please be respectful if I am assisting another student.

Conclusion
As an extension activity I have provided a take home activity for you to complete:
