Introduction
GRADE 6-8 SOCIAL STUDIES
Our main focus will be on the following studies in social studies: American History, World History, Geography, Economics, Civics and government
Sixth grade history puts more emphasis on early cultures of America. Seventh grade history has put more emphasis on American history in the period between the Great depression and the Civil War. Studies are made on the of imperialism and Industrial revolution around the world. Grade eight history emphasizes on Constitutional principles, forums of democracy and World War II history. Under each of the above strands in social studies we are going to briefly delve on one particular concept as indicated below.

Task
Your task will be to give an extensive overview of a particular topic under each of the given concepts.
You are supposed to give a brief but extensive information on each of the topics including; Great depression, Age of Imperialism, Government Sytems in the World, Enviroment and Society and finally Global Economics.
By the end the the end of the study pupils will be able to clearly understand the above stated topics

Great Depression and World War II
The great economic depression followed in after an abrupt crash of the stock market in October 1929. These were the hard times before many Americans as one-quarter of the workforce was out of work. Peoples savings, jobs and firms were threatened. A time of hope and optimism known as the New Deal, came into existence during the first two terms of presidency by Franklin Delano Rooselvet. Though the darkest hours of despair had already passed, the economic depression continued to the New Deal era. The scope and effect of the worldwide economic problems were spread throughout the world in the 1930s. Economic troubles led to political instabilities, which inturn led to the rise of dictators such as Adolf Hitler. Dictorship regimes led to world wide conflicts which eventually resulted in the rise of the world wars. U.S involvement in the on the 7th of December 1941 after Japan hit U.S naval base at Pearl Habor.
The effects of the world war two were immensely felt in U.S and also around the world.
Age of Imperialism
The Age of Imperialism did not start until the 1870s. This age started as a result of conflicts on systems of balancing power in strong nations. Nations that had a ignificant contribution to this age include the British, German, French, Dutch, Russia and Japan. This came about from the desire to extend their powers around the world. The British and the French played the most major roles as they had conquered most of the colonies around the globe that helped in defence of their nation during times of war. Among the colonies conquered by the British included: South Africa, Rhodesia, Uganda, Egypt, Sierra Leone, Zanzibar, Gold Coast and Gambia.The british had also conqured more colonies in the in Singapore, Asia and Hongkong. This made London to be the strongest city on the world. French imperialism began with the rise of Napoleon. Japan entered the Imeperialistic game in 1854 after being forced to join trade with the U.S. Japan conquered parts of Machuria and Korea.

Government Systems of the World
The different forms of government around the world, include: Theocracy, Presidential, Sultanate, Monarchy, Parliamentary monarchy, Parliamentary democracy, Islamic republic, Dictatorship, Democracy, Federal republic, Democratic republic, Ecclesiastical, Absolute monarchy, Constitutional monarchy, Communist, Constitutional democracy, Commonwealth and Authoritarian.

As described above, Theocracy is a form of government that recognizes a Deity the supreme civil ruler. The Deity is subject to religious authority as the ecclesiastical authorities interprate the laws. Presidential refers to a form of government in which the legislature and executive branches exist separately. Sultanate is a system of government in which the Sultan has supreme powers, which may either be constitutionally limited or absolute. Monarchy is a form of government whereby the monarch has supreme powers over the state or territory under reign. The monarch may be a Queen, King or Prince. Democracy is a system of government in which the people retain supreme power. Ecclesiastical is a system of government under church administration. Dictatorship is a system of government in which the ruler has absolute powers that are unrestricted by the laws or constitution. Federal refers a system of government that uses constitutional mean to formally divided sovereign power between the central authority and a constituent number of regions. Islamic republic is a form of theocratic government that the Muslim states have adopted.
Environment and Society
Human beings have been affected and have affected the natural world throughout history. Though having affected the environment in a negative manner, human beings have also helped in the protection and preservation of the much that is valued of the environment today. As global warming and atmospheric pollution is on the rise, more attention has shifted to the complex rise in environmental problems. There is still a lot of difficulty experienced in trying to ensure the best way to preserve and protect natural resources within our environment. Tradeoffs and unintended consequences will always exist However new strategies have been adopted, designed to ensure the conservation of both renewable and non-renewable resources within a long period of time, for use by future generations. A well preserved environment is the sources of natural goods and services that are normally used as raw materials in diverse industries thus ensuring economic prosperity nationally and internationally. The environment is a very important issue now and in the future. The major challenge in conserving the environment, is the maintenance of a balance between a stable environment while at the same time ensuring that people receive the quality of life that they seek from the environment. As it has been now clearly proven there lies a close relationship between social, technological, economical options and the environment.
