Disabling the barriers in technology education

As you can hear, every teacher nowadays use different types of methods using technology in education. In ICT, they use different gadgets such as Ms powerpoints for a clear delivery of reports, some are using tablets as student's notebook. the point is that technology helps us learn faster and quicker than the usual strategy in teaching which is conventional method or traditional.

Task

Students must have these knowledge during, before and after the lessons:

  • Every students already know how to create a good and effective powerpoint presentation
  • The students will know how important and advantageous the technology is in teaching.
  • The self-esteem of every students would be high because of their individual presentations.
  • Right utilisation of technologies in education
  • Students would learn how to communicate with each other through the help of group activities.
Process

The activities will be about how every should create a proper power point presentation.

  • The teacher will discuss how to create a powerpoint.
  • After the lessons, the class will be divided into 5 and each member of the group will be required to report using a powerpoint presentation about ICT in education, Utilization of technologies in teaching, Conventional technologies, and the Advantages and disadvantages of technologies in education.
  • Every student must create their power point with this criteria:
  1. The presentation should have a clear and good title.
  2. The fonts should not be big. ex. 12 calibri
  3. Images should not be abused
  4. Use only 3 colors for texts.
  5. No abuse of audio/sound effects.
  6. If there is a video, it must be limited for atleast 5 mins.
  7. Use only the 6x6 method in bulleting which means 6 words then 6 bullet.
Evaluation

These are the grading system for the powerpoint presentations.

  • Clear text 
  • voice modulation
  • Design
  • Consistency
  • Contrast
  • KISS(Keep it simple and straight)
  • Take home message
  • Dont be silly
Conclusion

The timing has never been better for using technology to enable and improve learning at all levels, in all places, and for people of all backgrounds. From the modernization of E-rate to the proliferation and adoption of openly licensed educational resources, the key pieces necessary to realize best the transformations made possible by technology in education are in place.
